A Korean Disney Birthday Bash....

Whew! What a day! Today was a full day with Meals on Wheels, Caleb's Cubbies Award Picnic, and Caleb & Emilie's birthday party.

Cubbies picnic.....
This was Caleb's last year as a Cubbie (Cubbies are the 3&4 year olds for Awana). He worked hard and got through all of his Bible verses this year... Yeah!

Caleb & Emilie's Korean Disney birthday bash....
Mom Postlewait, Josh, and I prepared a Korean feast for everyone tonight. The decorations were all Disney to help get us excited for our trip to Disney next week (as if we need help getting excited for Disney!).

Left:Cousin Benton, Emilie, & Caleb in Mickey ears Right: Postlewait birthday parties are just not complete without a pinata. We had a bat for the kids to use but Emilie insisted on using her ribbon wand. You have to admit... the girl's got style!

Left: Collecting the Pinata goods after Uncle Benny busted it open (with the bat... not the ribbon wand). Right: Matching Minnie Mouse ears... couldn't resist! When I was getting her ears at the beginning of the party, Emilie said to me with a very concerned face, "I not want big hat" while pointing at the Mikey Mouse ears pinata.

There were definitely moments today when I thought the party would never happen... I was way behind schedule on the cooking, none of the party decorations were up, and lots of party to-do's completely untouched. I kept thinking how it would be so much easier to go to McDonald's and get everyone a Happy Meal (and by everyone... I mean the adults as well!). But then I remembered the grueling 2 hours spent at the Asian Market.... where not one of 200 Asians in store spoke English and the only packaging options are Korean, Chinese, or Thai (none of which I can read)... and decided there was no way I was going to let any food from that store go to waste. Fortunately I have an amazingly humble family who just step in and help wherever help is needed. Thank you Mom & Dad Postlewait and Marty for everything you did to help with the party!
