Pinocchio

Josh, Emilie, and I got to join Caleb and his school on their field trip to see Pinocchio at the Vet Memorial downtown today. The boys rode the bus while Emilie and I enjoyed some girl time in the car. We got there before the buses did and Emilie waited anxiously by the window for her brother. After a while she got out her binoculars to help with the lookout.

Waiting for the show to begin.

After the show we took over a McDonald's. Josh was kind enough to "Man" the station with the children while the Moms and teachers waited in line for the food.

After the show the class had a neat service project to work on. Mrs. Williams is teaching the kids to give without expecting anything in return. So the kids worked on making bracelets for children at Nationwide Children's Hospital... several of whom never leave the hospital until they are 5 or 6 because they are waiting until their bodies are strong/old enough for the needed medical procedures. On the left Mrs. Williams is explaining to the class what they are about to do. The picture on the right is of Caleb and his friend Alec making their bracelets.
