Happy 1st Spiritual Birthday Caleb!

After a few weeks of discussion Caleb told Josh he was ready to accept Jesus Christ as his personal Savior on March 11, 2008. His Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Williams gave us the great idea the other week to celebrate the kids spiritual birthdays. So we decided to celebrate tonight! But it was a busy night for several reasons....

Mojo had just gotten a new bone and had been carrying it around for a couple of days. Today finally he decided to start eating it. He was lying on my bed with the bone when we got home and Emilie went up to pet him. He must have thought she was going to take his bone and lunged at her. He scratched her left cheek and bit her right below her right eye. It was chaotic for a bit afterwards.. Caleb chased Mojo under the bed and tried to spank him while I consoled Emilie. But after a few minutes Emilie was back to chasing Mojo around trying to give him hugs and kisses. I was so worried about Josh's reaction when he got home.... if he had been home when this happened Mojo would have not lived to see Emilie's very forgiving side.

While I made dinner Josh and Caleb worked on building and painting his derby car for the Awana Grand Prix race.

The kids helped me make an awesome ice cream cake.... found out about the recipe from someone else's blog but you can get it at Kraftfoods.com. Left is Emilie bossing Caleb around and telling him how he should be laying out the ice cream sandwiches. Right picture shows how Emilie likes to contribute to the cooking.

The end result of our cake...so yummy! We used Buckey Ice cream sandwiches which made it even more delicious! Caleb has decided this is the cake he wants for every spiritual birthday!
