As we prepared Caleb for his 5th grade camp, Over & Out Emilie said over and over again how much she was going to miss her brother. When bed time came, she was sent to her room while I finished helping Caleb pack. When I went to check on her I was disappointed to see her awake at her desk writing a note. I was quick to lecture her about obedience and told her to get to bed immediately. I went back to helping Caleb in his room. Within a few minutes I saw Emilie out of the corner of my eye....she was sneaking into the room to tuck the pictured note into Caleb ' s overnight bag. And attached to the note (with the gummy stuff....no idea where she got it from!!!) was an iTunes gift card. My heart melted at her sweet gesture but my stomach knotted with guilt for disciplining her when she was writing this note. Sigh.....
