When I took Emilie back to daycare after her sick day, there was a notice on her classroom door that one of her classmates had been diagnosed with the whooping cough. So as a precautionary I took her in to the doctor's office and had her tested. We all thought she would be fine... she was up to date on her whooping cough vaccination and she had stopped coughing. She seemed perfectly fine.
Yesterday I received a call from the Health Department informing us Emilie's test result came back positive. This meant she would be out of school for 5 days and the whole family had to be treated with antibiotics. Caleb's was easy- his pediatrician called in the prescription. Josh and I however, had to go into our physician's office for an exam.
Since Emilie wasn't allowed going to daycare- she had to come to the doctor's office with us. When we pulled up I had to leave her in the car and get a mask to put on her before we could all go in. She was such a trooper! The nurses were worried she would take the mask off but she didn't! She kept it on there for the full hour we were there. I think part of it was because she liked all the attention she got from the nurses... she did look pretty cute!
