Josh and I have come to learn Emilie has quite a strong will..... and of course I have no idea where she could possible get that from!
When I picked up the kids from daycare last night, I opened the van doors and asked them to get in as I went to put the backpacks in the trunk. As I came around to buckle Emilie in, I saw her tromping through the 4 inches of snow on the lawn in front of the van instead of sitting sweetly in her car seat. Emilie has been struggling with obedience the past few weeks. So when we were all in the car- I told her she would be getting a spanking when we got home. She immediately yelled back no. Oh yeah- Respect is something else she has been struggling with.
Long story short- she got an additional spanking for every time she yelled no. It was like a ping pong match for a while.... she'd yell no... I'd give the most recent count and suggest she stop yelling. After all... I can count for a while. She might stop for 2 minutes... and then out of the blue yell out no. And the ping pong match would start up again. Caleb had to correct me at one point because I lost count and skipped.... such a good big brother... looking out for his little sis. :)
We did get home that night and we did take care of all 25 spankings in one round.
This morning, Emilie was disobedient again just as we got to daycare. As I was unbuckling her, I told her she would be getting a spanking. She asked, "1 spanking?" to which I responded, "yes". Emilie exclaimed, "oh- goody! I like 1 spanking!" and proceeded to skip and hop her way into daycare.
