Updates :)

Wanted to give everyone a heads up that the blog is going to be slow for the next 2 weeks. I am leaving tomorrow morning for Guatemala and won't have access to email. But I promise there will be lots of stuff when I get back! Meemaw & Pa are coming to town while I am in Guatemala, Vacation Bible School is next week, and of course there will be Guatemala updates. :)

I will be traveling to San Pedro, Guatemala (just outside of Guatemala City) to work with Mi Refugio. Mi Refugio is a school started by an amazing woman, Kari Engen for at risk children. She started it specifically for children who live in the city dump but has since expanded it to help children in local Mayan villages as well. We have a group from church who go every fall but have felt God leading me to make this solo trip during my "short retirement". Josh and I will both be going in September with the church. I've attached a link to Mi Refugio's website if you want more information.

So speaking of my "short retirement".... it has come to an end. :) Honestly I thought I would be in tears when this time came, but really- I am rather excited. I was offered a great opportunity with Nationwide as an Internal Sales & Service Retirement Plans Manager. The title is a very long and complicated way of saying I will be managing a team who sells retirement plans to small businesses. I don't start until June 30th, so I still have a few weeks of summer to enjoy with the kids. :)

So- stayed tune... more to come in a few weeks!
