Reading

Life takes on a whole new flavor when the kids are able to read on their own.

The kids and I found ourselves with a free Friday night- which is a rare treat. To celebrate we decided everyone could choose something to do for the night. Caleb and Emilie wanted to go to the movies, I wanted dinner at Bob's, and we decided Mojo wanted to go to the dog park.

As we waited for our food to arrive at Bob's, Emilie colored. She wrote her name on the paper and asked me to write my name on it. I wrote "Ja" and put the crayon down.

Emilie: "Ja...J...A...that's it?"
Ja: "Yep- just J,A!"
E: "Oh- your name is spelled wrong at Christmas?"
J: "what do you mean, honey?"
E: "Your name is spelled wrong every Christmas on the stocking"
(My Christmas stocking has Ja Yung on it :) )

After dinner and the dog park the kids and I went to see "The Night at the Museum". The previews ran their course and before the movie stared the classic "Please turn your cell phone off" sign flashed across the screen. Caleb promptly leaned over and whispered- "Mom! Did you turn your cell phone off?"
